Planetary Portals at the Photographer's Gallery in 2025

We're very excited to be selected by The Photographers' Gallery London to develop and exhibit some new works from our research in 2025!

Planetary Portals, a collective made up of Michael Salu (House of Thought), Kathryn Yusoff, Kerry Holden (Queen Mary University of London) and Casper Laing Ebbensgaard (University of East Anglia), has been selected from an open call to develop, research and create a new digital commission to be presented online and here at The Photographers' Gallery London in 2025.

A creative research group around critical and artistic practice, Planetary Portals interrogates the continued colonial legacies and geotraumas as they extend from mining gold and diamonds in South Africa to the renewed scramble for African minerals and data that fuel global digital economies.

Planetary Portals were chosen as part of an open call, in line with an ambitious research project to explore the intersections of photography, imperialism, and networked culture. It is supported by Paul Mellon Centre for Studies in British Art.
